But there is something doomed to tear them apart...。本片讲述一位生活在重压之下的心理医生秦鹿，通过在潜意识构建安全的角色进行自我保护，从而找寻导致自己自杀的关键记忆，最终通过关键记忆的引导，克服内心生出的愧疚，勇敢面对自己曾经犯下的错误，坦然接受自己不完美，最终获得新生的故事。。剧中表现的是中南艺术剧院在商品经济至上，话剧市场低迷，剧院面临消亡危机的背景下，一群视艺术为生命的艺术家在困境中的挣扎和对崇高艺术的执着坚守。。
