本剧改编自同名小说，讲述了高二学生日置朝阳（藤本洸大饰）与要好的朋友分到不同班级，在修学旅行的小组分配中变得孤身一人。就在这时，一位同为初中同学的男生邀请他，强行将他拉进了一个由四位帅气男生组成的小团体。这个组合在学校里被称为“四天王”，都是人气极高的存在。起初，日置对这种情况十分困惑，但“四天王”之一的渡会䌷嵩（简秀吉饰）总是关心他，渐渐地两人开始熟络起来…。Close to Me follows Jo Harding (Connie Nielsen), a woman who seems to have it all with a beautiful house in the country, a loving family and a devoted husband (Christopher Eccleston).
